TraceIt is not finding a device. What should I check?

Make sure Bluetooth is turned on, the device you are looking for is powered on and within range, and that TraceIt has Bluetooth permission (open Settings, then TraceIt). Devices and trackers broadcast on their own schedule, so it helps to wait a moment and move around so the signal updates.

I subscribed but Pro features are not unlocked.

Open TraceIt and use Restore Purchases, which re-syncs your subscription from your Apple account. This also helps after reinstalling the app or switching to a new device. If Pro still does not unlock, email us and we will sort it out.

Does TraceIt work without an internet connection?

Yes. Scanning for nearby Bluetooth devices and the proximity finder run on your device using Bluetooth, so they work offline. A connection is only needed for things like loading or restoring a subscription.

How accurate is the proximity finder?

It reads Bluetooth signal strength, which climbs as you get closer, so it guides you to the right small area rather than exact coordinates. Walls, metal, and bags affect the signal, so move slowly and let the warm and cold cues, haptics, and sound steer you in.

Why can TraceIt not label an AirTag by name?

On iPhone, an AirTag that is still near its owner stays silent and iOS hides some of its data, so no app can reliably brand every AirTag on an iPhone. TraceIt still surfaces AirTag-style devices as suspicious, and it identifies the other major brands like Samsung SmartTag, Tile, and Chipolo directly.

Which devices does TraceIt support?

TraceIt is a native app for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later, and it is available in 41 languages. The device you are trying to find needs to be powered on and within Bluetooth range.
